The Romantics

The Romantics are a Detroit-based Rock Band that enjoyed some success on the Billboard Charts during the early 1980’s.

Their first Album was released in 1980 and it produced the single “What I like about you“. Though the song is considered to be their signature song, the single only reached #49 on the Billboard Charts in 1980.

VH-1 named the song the #97 greatest song of the Top-100 songs of the 1980’s.

The song has been featured in numerous commercials and films over the years.

Their next hit was 1983’s “Talking in your Sleep” which would peak at #3 on the Billboard Top-40 Charts.

Their last single to reach the charts was 1984’s “One in a Million” which reached #37 on the Billboard Charts.

The groups original lineup consisted of:

Wally Palmar – Guitar, Vocals

Mike Skill – Bass, Guitar

Rich Cole – Guitar, Bass

Jimmy Marinos – Drums, Vocals

The group has released 6 Studio Albums over the course of its career.

Although they have had a number of changes in band members, the group is still together and is still performing.
